Kellman Academy has been providing children with an outstanding education for fifty years. A Kellman education enables each student to achieve his or her unique intellectual, creative, and social potential.  Students thrive in a well rounded environment, promoting academic excellence that goes beyond the traditional three “R’s” of reading, writing, and arithmetic.  We pride ourselves in teaching the whole child, academically, physically, socially, and emotionally, all the while encouraging them to be analytical, intellectually curious, and independent thinkers. We instill a strong sense of American Jewish identity in every student, enabling them to feel comfortable in any cultural environment.

Our highly qualified and devoted teachers reach beyond their art to foster creativity, self-esteem, and a thirst for knowledge. Small class sizes allow teachers to individualize the educational needs of the students and to develop meaningful connections with the children. Differentiated instruction, meeting the needs of all students with a wide variety of academic levels, learning styles, interests, and talents, is a cornerstone of our approach to education. The best way to experience what a Kellman education has to offer is to visit us. Watch teachers engage students in active learning; hear the sounds of music; see child-created artistic masterpieces; applaud our young actors in the school play and cheer on the basketball, soccer, and track teams. Best of all; let your soul awaken with joy at the enthusiastic song and prayers that have sustained the Jewish people for thousands of years.

Welcome to KellmanAcademy! As we enter our 50th anniversary, we are looking toward an exciting new era for the school.  In January we announced the move to a new building in Voorhees, NJ and in just a few short months we find ourselves in the middle of a very successful capital campaign.  WITH PLANS TO OPEN THE NEW BUILDING IN OCTOBER 2008, the building committee is working closely with architects, engineers, and the township to ensure a smooth opening a year from now.

We are proud of our rich heritage at Kellman. Over 4,000 students have been educated over the last fifty years.  The school was built on strong academics, Jewish values, and rich traditions help students develop a strong personal and Jewish identity. We teach conservative practice and observance however welcome students of all backgrounds and denominations.

I invite you to browse through our website and to get a glimpse of what makes Kellman so special and unique.  I trust you will find it when you see our staff and learn about the exciting programs that are underway and I hope that you experience the vibrancy of our school when you visit.  If we’ve sparked your interest, give us a call.  There’s nothing more that we love to do than talk about Kellman.

Gail Cohen, Executive Director

The creation of the State of Israel is one of the seminal events in Jewish history. Recognizing the significance of the State and its national institutions, we seek to instill in our students an attachment to the State of Israel and its people as well as a sense of responsibility for their welfare.
